China to provide $33 mln loan to
Cambodia
The Cambodia Herald – September 3,
2013
PHNOM PENH: China has pledged 200
million Yuan (around USD $33 million) to Cambodia in addition to the loans and
grants provided in April of this year.
The loan announcement was made
during a meeting between Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen and China’s Prime
Minister Li Keqiang.
Hun Sen left For China Monday
morning to attend the 10th annual ASEAN-China Expo, which is held from
September 2-3 in Nanning, the capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang
Autonomous Region.
During the meeting, the two leaders
vowed to boost connectivity between the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and the
Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Li once again congratulated the CPP
in its victory in Cambodia's fifth parliamentary election held on July 28, and
hoped that Cambodia under Hun Sen’s rule will gain further success.
Hun Sen in return thanked China for
their strong support of Cambodia.
He said China has always been
Cambodia's sincere friend and reliable partner, adding that Cambodia is keen to
maintain close communication with China and deepen mutually beneficial
cooperation in order to lift the two countries bilateral ties to new heights.
